Change Is in the Air
by Kate Nagel on 09/19/11
To me, fall smells crisp. The air has a little nip in it. There are the smells of campfires and fireplaces. All those smells tell me one thing: change is coming! The changing of the seasons as fall turns into winter.
What does change mean for you? Do you embrace change, or do you try to run for the hills? Change is part of life. You simply cannot live without it. There are little changes, such as changing brands of laundry detergent or getting a different haircut. Then there are the medium changes, like schedules changing as children go off to school or having a new co-worker. And then, of course, are the biggies. These are things like getting married, having a baby, changing jobs, or starting a business.
Even good changes can bring stress into our lives. Balancing things when we go through these changes can be difficult. But your outlook on change can make a world of difference. Think of change as a chance to try something new. Even if it is an unexpected change, you can make it a positive experience Loosen up some and enjoy the ride. Change is in the air, and it can mean great things for you!

Feeling Overwhelmed
by Kate Nagel on 08/18/11
Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Like you just can't catch your breath with everything going on? I think we all feel that way sometimes. I have been feeling that way this week because of all the driving I have had to do. I feel like I am living out of my car! My first thought was, "How am I going to get all these errands done this week?" So I sat down, looked at all the information, and decided what I thought were the most important things to do and how to combine trips efficiently. That is the best way to conquer the feeling of being overwhelmed.
Life certainly can come at us fast and furiously. You have to be prepared in order for it to not take you over. So sit down every morning. Read, pray, listen to music. Make a list of everything that is important and prioritize that list. By doing this, you can be more ready to take on the world.

Overcoming Apathy
by Kate Nagel on 08/17/11
What is the one thing that will
surely kill any progress in life and in your business? Apathy. You know
what I mean: days when you wake up and don't want to do anything; when
you would rather see friends than work your business; when you
rationalize that it won't matter if you take off today because there is
always tomorrow. However, if you want your business to grow, you MUST
fight apathy. The number one way to do this is CONSISTENCY. Set a
schedule for the week that include time for all facets of your business.
Make sure you include any other commitments you have, such as family
time, church, kids' games, etc. The main thing is to stick to your
schedule whether you want to or not.
Apathy
begets apathy. Break through it by doing something. Make goals every
week, and do what you can every week to attain those goals. That doesn't
mean that things don't come up that require adjustment of your schedule
or your goals. It just means that ADJUSTMENT does not mean QUIT. Decide
what you want out of life and your business. Don't let apathy win!
